This summer, I read the LAMBDA-awarding winning My Autobiography of Carson McCullers, which is also a memoir of the author, Jenn Shapland. It is a genre-bending book that joins biography with memoir, an engrossing portrait of longing, discovery, and obsession. Beautifully written! I learned a lot about McCullers, all embedded in a really enjoyable memoir.
